Sister winery to Magnetic Hill Winery, Loose Wire is led by Zach Everett, Magnetic Hill’s winemaker and co-owner. After years of building one of New Brunswick’s most recognized wine brands, Zach created Loose Wire as a place to push further — smaller batches, bolder techniques, and wines that don’t have to fit neatly inside the expected.

We work with cold-climate grapes, unconventional techniques, and a willingness to push beyond what wine from this region has traditionally been expected to be. Our wines are shaped by unique varieties, appassimento fruit, concrete, stainless steel, oak, sparkling methods, long aging, and the occasional idea that probably sounded unreasonable at first.

Long before Loose Wire existed, this land had already caught Zach’s attention.

Back in 2007, he walked this empty hay field when it was listed for sale, imagining what it could become: a high-quality vineyard on one of the area’s higher-elevation sites, with the potential to grow something serious. At the time, life pulled him in another direction, and he chose to keep travelling instead.

A year later, someone else bought the land — and planted a vineyard.

So when the owners called years later, ready to retire and wondering if Zach might still be interested, it felt like the vineyard had come back around for a reason. He wasn’t going to let the opportunity pass him by twice.

That sense of unfinished business is part of Loose Wire. The site had already proven it could become what he once imagined. Now, the work is to push it further.

Loose Wire was built for the wines that don’t fit neatly into the usual categories. Wines with more texture, more nerve, more risk, and more personality. Some are bright and electric. Some are rich, serious, and cellar-worthy. All of them come from the same belief: New Brunswick wine can be more ambitious, more expressive, and more exciting than people expect.

We respect tradition. We just don’t think it should get the final word.
